Expressnet Payphone Programming:

Now that your payphone is installed & you have checked for dial tone,  it must be initialized.  This will prepare it to receive its programming from our computer.

PROGRAM MODE:7000chas.gif (2801 bytes)

With the payphone upper housing removed but still connected to the Smartboard and the handset on-hook, press and hold the Red Button (located in the middle of the Smartboard).

Next, remove the handset and bring it to your ear.  After about three (3) seconds you will hear a single tone.   Release the Red Button.  You are now in Program Mode.

INITIALIZATION:

From the Program Mode dial the Command "00".   This tells the payphone that the next ten (10) numbers will be its ANI (telephone number).  After you dial "00" enter the payphones ANI, area code and number (XXX-XXX-XXXX). When finished dial the " * " to complete the command.   The payphone will acknowledge with a single tone.

Next dial "1861".  This prepares the payphone to send and receive data at 1200 baud.  When finished dial the " * " to complete the command.  The payphone will acknowledge with a single tone.

Next enter "28 01 01 00 24" followed by an " * ".  The payphone will acknowledge with a single tone.  This will complete the Initialization.

COIN COLLECTION PROCEDURE: newyahooblink.gif (246 bytes)

This procedure should be followed every time you collect coins from your payphone.

First, from the keypad of your payphone with the handset off hook, enter * # 4 and your four digit Security Code (this number was entered in your Options & Registers file under Security Codes).  The handset will echo the dollar amount in the payphone.  Then hang up.

Second, from the keypad of your payphone with the handset off hook, enter * # 1 and your four digit Security Code (this number was entered in your Options & Registers file under Security Codes).  This will cause the payphone to zero out and report to your PC Computer.  If you were to perform the First step again the payphone would echo zero dollars.

We will continue to update this page with information that will help simplify and optimize your PC/Payphone communications.
